Product Description

Find answers to common questions about our product, including dosage, storage, and side effects.

  • Diclofenac is a medication prescribed for the treatment of knee arthritis.
  • It functions by reducing pain and swelling in the affected joint.
  • Additionally, it aids in improving the ability to move and flex the knee joint.
  • Diclofenac belongs to the class of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).

  • Before using diclofenac, read the Medication Guide and Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Prior to using the pump for the first time, remove the cap and prime the pump according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Apply diclofenac to clean, dry skin as directed by your doctor, typically twice daily to the affected knee(s). Press down firmly on the pump head twice and dispense the medication onto your palm. Apply the medication evenly around the front, back, and sides of the knee. Repeat for the other knee if instructed by your doctor. Allow the medication to dry for several minutes. Avoid wearing clothing over the treated area until it is completely dry. Also, refrain from applying sunscreen, insect repellent, lotion, or other topical products on your knee until it is dry.
  • Remember to wash your hands before and after applying the medication. Avoid contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth. Refrain from showering or bathing for at least 30 minutes after application. Do not apply diclofenac to open wounds or to infected or damaged skin. Avoid wrapping, bandaging, or applying heat (such as a heating pad) to the treated area unless instructed by your doctor.
  • Use diclofenac regularly to obtain the maximum benefit. Do not exceed the prescribed dosage, frequency of application, or duration of use.
  • Inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsens while using diclofenac.

  • Skin irritation such as dryness, flaking, redness, or itching may occur while using this medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
  • It’s important to remember that this medication has been prescribed to you because your doctor has determined that the benefits outweigh the risks of potential side effects. Many individuals using this medication do not experience serious side effects.
  • Diclofenac may elevate your blood pressure. Monitor your blood pressure regularly and notify your doctor if the readings are high.
  • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any serious side effects, including signs of kidney problems such as changes in urine output, or symptoms of heart failure like swelling ankles or feet, unusual tiredness, or sudden weight gain.
  • Rarely, this drug may cause severe, possibly fatal liver disease. Seek medical assistance promptly if you notice any symptoms of liver damage, such as persistent nausea or vomiting, loss of appetite, dark urine, stomach or abdominal pain, or yellowing of the eyes or skin.
  • While very uncommon, a severe allergic reaction to this medication can occur. Seek immediate medical help if you observe any signs of a serious allergic reaction, including fever, swollen lymph nodes, rash, itching or swelling (particularly of the face, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing.
  • This list does not encompass all possible side effects. If you notice any other effects not mentioned here, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Before using this medication, inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to diclofenac, aspirin, other NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, naproxen, celecoxib), or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients that could trigger allergic reactions or other complications. Consult your pharmacist for further details.
  • Prior to using this medication, disclose your medical history to your doctor or pharmacist, especially if you have asthma (including a history of breathing difficulties after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs), blood disorders, nasal polyps, heart disease, high blood pressure, liver disease, stomach/intestinal issues, or have had a stroke.
  • Kidney problems may occur with NSAID medications like diclofenac. Risk factors include dehydration, heart failure, kidney disease, older age, or certain medications. Stay hydrated as directed by your doctor and promptly report any changes in urine output.
  • Before undergoing surgery, inform your doctor or dentist about all the products you use, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.
  • This medication may increase sensitivity to sunlight. Limit sun exposure, avoid tanning booths and sunlamps, use sunscreen, and wear protective clothing outdoors. Notify your doctor if you experience sunburn or skin redness/blisters.
  • Older adults may be at higher risk for stomach/intestinal bleeding, kidney problems, heart attack, and stroke while using this medication.
  • Women of childbearing age should discuss the benefits and risks of using this medication with their doctor(s). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy. Diclofenac may harm an unborn baby and affect normal labor/delivery. Avoid use during pregnancy from 20 weeks until delivery. If use is necessary between 20 and 30 weeks of pregnancy, use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration. Discontinue use after 30 weeks of pregnancy.
