Indications

  • Combination medication for high pressure inside the eye (glaucoma or ocular hypertension).
  • Contains brimonidine and timolol.
  • Treats open-angle glaucoma or eye diseases.
  • Lowers eye pressure to prevent blindness.
  • Brimonidine enhances fluid drainage and reduces fluid formation.
  • Timolol decreases fluid formation in the eye.
  • Not recommended for children under 2 years old due to increased risk of serious side effects.

Dosage and administration

  • Read the Patient Information Leaflet before using the product.
  • Wash hands before applying eye drops.
  • Avoid touching dropper tip or letting it touch eyes or surfaces.
  • Remove contact lenses before using the eye drops.
  • Wait 15 minutes after using the medication before putting in contact lenses.
  • Tilt head back, look up, pull down lower eyelid, place 1 drop in pouch, 2 times daily.
  • Close eyes for 1-2 minutes, apply gentle pressure at corner of the eye.
  • Repeat steps for the other eye if directed.
  • Do not rinse the dropper, replace cap after each use.
  • Wait at least 10 minutes before applying other eye medications.
  • Use regularly at the same times each day.
  • Continue use even if feeling well.

Side effects

  • Temporary blurred vision, burning, stinging, itching, redness of the eye.
  • Watery eyes, dry eyes, dry mouth, sensation of something in the eye.
  • Headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
  • Inform your doctor if these effects persist or worsen.
  • Serious side effects: vision changes, eye sensitivity to light, eye pain, slow/irregular heartbeat.
  • Muscle weakness, unusual tiredness, mental/mood changes, coldness/numbness/pain in hands or feet.
  • Swelling ankles/feet, sudden unexplained weight gain, shortness of breath.
  • Seek medical help for very serious side effects: persistent dizziness, trouble breathing, chest pain.
  • Weakness on one side of the body, trouble speaking, confusion, fainting.
  • Very serious allergic reaction is rare; seek immediate medical help for symptoms like rash, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Precautions

  • Inform your doctor about allergies to brimonidine, timolol, apraclonidine, or other allergies.
