Product Description :
Asacol HD is a prescription medication for the treatment of Ulcerative Colitis symptoms. This medication can be used on its own or in combination with other medicines.
It relieves ulcerative colitis symptoms like diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and stomach pain. Mesalamine is an amino-salicylate, which is a type of drug. It works by lowering the amount of inflammation in the colon.
Asacol HD Dosage
The suggested dose for people with moderately active ulcerative colitis is 1600 mg (two Asacol HD 800 mg tablets) three times a day (total daily intake of 4.8 grams) for a period of six weeks.

Drug interactions
Asacol may interact with azathioprine or mercaptopurine, pentamidine, tacrolimus, amphotericin B, antibiotics, antiviral medications, cancer treatment, aspirin, or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Tell your doctor about all of the drugs you’re taking.
Asacol HD During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Asacol HD should only be taken if it is indicated during pregnancy. This drug can cause damage to a breastfeeding infant if it gets into the breast milk. Before you start nursing, make sure to speak with your doctor.
