Indications
- Aprepitant, in combination with other medications, is employed to prevent nausea and vomiting resulting from chemotherapy during cancer treatment.
- Aprepitant functions by inhibiting substance P/neurokinin 1, a natural substance in the body responsible for inducing vomiting.
- It’s important to note that this medication does not address ongoing nausea or vomiting. If you experience these symptoms, consult your doctor for guidance on appropriate actions.

- For the initial dose, follow your doctor’s instructions, usually 1 hour before the commencement of chemotherapy. Continue taking a daily dose 1 hour before treatment for the next 2 days if undergoing chemotherapy. If not receiving chemotherapy, take the daily dose in the morning.
- Dosage is determined by medical condition, age, and treatment response. For children, the dosage also considers weight. - Inform your doctor if you experience vomiting or nausea.
