  • Medication purpose to treat eye conditions caused by inflammation or injury.
  • Fluorometholone alleviates symptoms like swelling, redness, and itching.
  • Belongs to the corticosteroid class of drugs.

  • Unless directed otherwise by your doctor, avoid wearing contact lenses while using this medicine. If approved by your doctor, remove lenses before using eye drops and wait at least 15 minutes after each dose before wearing them again.
  • To apply eye drops, wash hands, shake the bottle well, and do not touch the dropper tip or let it touch the eye or any surface to avoid contamination.
  • Tilt your head back, look upward, and pull down the lower eyelid. Place one drop into the pouch, close eyes for 1-2 minutes, and apply gentle pressure at the corner of the eye to prevent drainage. Avoid blinking and rubbing your eye.
  • Repeat steps for the other eye if directed and for doses exceeding 1 drop.
  • Apply as directed by your doctor, and do not rinse the dropper. Replace the dropper cap after each use.
  • If using other eye medications, wait 5-10 minutes before applying additional medications. Use eye drops before ointments.
  • Use regularly at the same time(s) each day for maximum benefit.
  • Dosage and duration based on your medical condition and response; do not exceed prescribed frequency or duration to avoid increased side effects.
  • Continue full treatment course; do not stop abruptly without consulting your doctor, as some conditions may worsen. Gradual dose reduction may be necessary.
  • Do not use contaminated product; contact your doctor or pharmacist if the drops change color. Contaminated eye medication can lead to infection, eye damage, and vision loss.
  • Inform your doctor if there is no improvement after 2 days or if the condition worsens.

  • Possible side effects when applying the medication: stinging/burning of the eyes for 1 to 2 minutes and temporary blurred vision.
  • If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
  • Medication prescribed due to the doctor’s judgment of greater benefits compared to potential side effects; many users do not experience serious side effects.
  • Prolonged or high-dose use may lead to serious eye problems such as high intraocular pressure and cataracts. Notify your doctor immediately if you experience vision problems or eye pain.
  • The medication may mask signs of an eye infection and increase the risk of developing one, especially with prolonged use. Report any new or worsening symptoms, such as eye discharge/swelling/redness, vision problems, or lack of improvement in your eye condition. Your doctor will need to adjust your treatment accordingly.
  • Report serious side effects promptly, including headache and dizziness.
  • A very rare allergic reaction may occur; seek immediate medical help for symptoms like rash, itching/swelling (especially face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
  • Incomplete list of possible side effects; contact your doctor or pharmacist for any unlisted effects.

  • Inform your doctor or pharmacist about any allergies to fluorometholone or other substances.
  • Discuss your medical history, particularly eye infections, recent eye surgery, cataracts, open-angle glaucoma, severe nearsightedness (myopia), and diabetes before using this medication.
  • Temporary blurred vision may occur after applying the drug. Avoid activities like driving or using machinery that require clear vision until it is safe to do so.
  • Before surgery, inform your doctor or dentist about all products used, including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products.
  • Consult your doctor if you develop a new eye infection or injury or require eye surgery to determine whether to continue using your current bottle of fluorometholone eye drops or start a new one.
  • During pregnancy, use this medication only when necessary, and discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding.
